In this video, Professor John Ahr of the Online Jewelry Academy demonstrates how to turn acrylic rod into a fashionable statement necklace with three-dimensional effects.

This fashion jewelry project is suitable for beginning jewelry designers.  And, it is easily adapted to incorporate any color pallet.  You can add color using epoxy resin or nail polish.

Acrylic rod is easily obtained at a local aquarium store.  It's what aquarium designers use to create rock and coral compositions in fish tanks.  It's easy to cut and drill using basic jewelry making tools.
