In this video, Professor John Ahr of the Online Jewelry Academy demonstrates how to make a rope bracelet from items purchased from the hardware store.  This is a simple project that doesn't require any specialized jewelry making equipment.
It's fun to look for unconventional materials that can be combined to create jewelry.  In this example, Prof. Ahr uses a length of nylon climbing rope and fittings for a lamp to make an interesting and colorful bracelet suitable for a man or a woman.  You can use the techniques covered in this video to combine a wide variety of other materials.  Remember, creativity is key.
