In this short video, Professor John Ahr of the Online Jewelry Academy demonstrates how to remove the copper blush that can develop on a brass surface after soldering and pickling.

Using a chemical solution sometimes referred to as "nickel pickle", Professor Ahr easily restores a brass surface to it's beautiful golden yellow color.

While the pickling techniques covered in this video can save you time in the finishing of your brass projects, they must be used with caution.  Please pay attention to the safety considerations before you adopt this pickling process.  Only use a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution in combination with a small amount of sodium bisulfate.  Never tightly cover the solution.  And, always work under good ventilation.  Remember to work safe.  Wear eye protection and protective clothing.  And use tongs to handle your items.  You can neutralize the pickling solution with water and baking soda.
