In this video, Professor John Ahr of the Online Jewelry Academy demonstrates how to apply color to copper with colored pencils. This same technique can also be used to add patterns and images to copper pieces.
This simple technique involves the use of gesso, workable acrylic fixative, acrylic sealer, and most important Prismacolor colored pencils. It's simple enough that jewelry designers of any age or skill level can achieve amazing results. Just be sure to spray the acrylic fixative and sealer in a well ventilated area.
