In this video, Prof. John Ahr teaches you how to remove the copper plating that appears on silver jewelry that has been exposed to contaminated pickle.

Don't feel bad.  You're here because your silver looks like copper.  It's OK.  It could happen to anyone.

The first thing that you need to do is empty your pickle pot (safely), rinse it and put in new pickling solution.  There's a how to set up your pickle pot video on this channel if you need help with this task.

After you've made fresh pickling solution you're ready to fix your plated jewelry pieces.  All you need to do is to "lightly anneal" them.  You don't need to heat the metal until it gives off a glow.  You just need to heat the surface until it looks dull.  Then, put the item in your fresh pickle.  You might have to repeat this process a few times.  But, it's guaranteed to work.
