In this video, Professor John Ahr of the Online Jewelry Academy demonstrates how to use foldforming techniques to create a lovely statement necklace.

This video builds upon the information presented in one of our most popular videos entitled "Foldformed Copper Shapes: A YouTube Favorite."  Our initial foldforming video merely explored the tools, materials and techniques involved in creating beautiful elegant shapes in copper.  The OJA now offers you the opportunity to learn how to use your formfolded copper shapes in your original jewelry designs.  You will see how one particular approach to formfolding, the Rueger Fold, is used in two different ways that produce very different results.

Our viewers have inquired many times to learn if this process can be applied to other metals.  The short answer is yes.  But, the OJA encourages you to practice with 22 gauge copper before attempting foldforming with other metals.

If you like this video there are many more like it included in the Online Jewelry Academy's playlist.  You can find the OJA's videos organized by category on our website at: http://www.onlinejewelryacademy.com
