In this video, Prof. John Ahr of the Online Jewelry Academy demonstrates how to make make a prong setting for a geode slab that doesn't require any heat. This project is similar the the OJA's turtle setting video where prongs emerge from the edge of a shape. In this case, the prongs come from the interior of the shape.
This project based video will help to acquaint beginning jewelers with the use of hart burs. The hart bur is used to cut part way into the prongs so that they bend easily over the top of the stone.
