In this video, Professor John Ahr of the Online Jewelry Academy 
provides viewers with a quick tip for keeping solder in place during pick soldering.

Pick soldering is where solder is melted on a surface and moved to a solder joint by poking it with a soldering pick.  This method works because the meniscus of the molten solder grabs onto the cool point of the steel soldering pick.
