In this video, Prof. John Ahr explains how to use stickers to produce multiples of an item.  This simple technique will help you to save time and elbow grease because it actually helps to preserve the surface of your sheet metal as you work with it.

Traditionally, jewelers mark a pattern directly on the surface of a piece of sheet metal.  Most often, bench workers will scribe a pattern, or lightly scratch it into the surface of the metal.  Other methods involve the use of paints, stains and inks.  But all of these methods leave the surface of the metal exposed and vulnerable to scratches.

The use of template stickers protects the surface of the sheet metal during cutting and drilling operations.  Additionally, they can easily be marked with design alterations.  And best of all, when they are removed the surface of your design element will not have been scratched or damaged.  The labels can be removed by peeling them, soaking them or burning them off.  They're just paper.
