In this video, Professor John Ahr of the Online Jewelry Academy demonstrates an easy earring project.  Learn how to quickly turn dapped, textured sheet metal discs into beautiful wearable button earrings.

The secret to successfully doming your textured sheet metal disc is to use a hardwood dapping block.  The hardwood dapping block is softer than a steel dapping block.  As a result, the use of the hardwood tool won't damage the texture you've applied to your sheet metal disc.  Also, the hardwood tool has a more shallow curve to it.  This allows you to create dimension with your sheet metal discs without them shrinking into half spheres.
